A native of the Texas Hill Country, Toni Hurlbut has lived in Kansas, Philadelphia, and Dallas before moving back to the Hill Country. Her interest in jewelry design began when she became acquainted with a jeweler and silversmith while on one of her many visits to Santa Fe, New Mexico. Toni’s training evolved from working with the Santa Fe jeweler and went on from there to jewelry design and construction seminars in Dallas, Texas and through Texas Tech University.

Toni works primarily with natural semi-precious stones, fresh-water pearls, wood, bone, crystal, glass, trade beads, and sterling silver. She also uses copper, gold (gold-fill, vermeil, and 14-18 kt), silver ( Bali, Hill Tribe, and fine silver), along with other metals designed to enhance the stones. Toni is drawn to simple, classic designs, but often likes to incorporate different shapes, colors, and textures to create interesting pieces. She consults and advises customers on designing pieces of jewelry upon request.
